EBE student dies

31 July 2007

The staff of the ASPECT programme in EBE learned, with great sadness, that Kesegofetse Sehudi passed away on 23 June.

Kesegofetse was a first-year ASPECT student in 2004 and had gone on to study electro-mechanical engineering. She had done very well in her first three years at UCT, not failing any course and getting high marks for many of the courses in the difficult programme. She would have graduated next year.

She went home in June to have a baby. She gave birth to her daughter and a few days later experienced complications. She died within a week of giving birth. Her daughter is well and being looked after by family in Botswana.
