Time is running out for applications and nominations for this year’s University of Cape Town (UCT) Social Responsiveness Award, which carries a cash prize of R35 000 to further the work of the winning individual or team.
The award is open to staff who have been employed permanently or under a limited term contract of at least two years, and they must have been employed for a minimum one year prior to the date of nomination, according to Professor Michael Kyobe, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Internationalisation.
The aim of the award, he said, is to offer institutional support and recognition to encourage staff to play an active development role in their cultural, economic, political, scientific and social environment.
The recipient will be announced in December, and will receive the award at a university graduation ceremony.
