R11 000 in prize money in UCT's 175 Photo competition

23 August 2004

An archive picture of the scaffolding for Jameson Hall.

All university staff, students and alumni are reminded to get out their cameras and take that award-winning picture representing any aspect of UCT life within the theme, 175 Years On – Changing Minds and Histories and stand the chance of winning great cash prizes and Kodak cameras.

Even if you do not have a camera, and were unlucky not to have been given a free Kodak disposable camera, you can still enter the competition by submitting any old pictures of UCT that you or your family might have.

Get your entry forms from Campus Camera or visit www.uct.ac.za/staff/index.php, or http://www.uct.ac.za/students/index.php for downloads and more information.

Entries must be handed in to UCT's Photographic Society in the Student Development and Services Department building, Campus Camera, or at the Department of Communication and Development offices at Welgelegen, Chapel Road, Rosebank.

Winning and other top entries will be part of an exhibition to celebrate UCT's 175th birthday in October.

The competition closes on September 10. Further details can be found on the entry forms, or contact Murray Steyn on tel 650 3315 or e-mail msteyn@bremner.uct.ac.za.
