Keep your eyes open for two suspects

07 June 2004

Campus Protection Services (CPS) has asked the university community to be on the lookout for two suspects who have been involved in various thefts on campus.

The first is a 40-45-year-old male of slender build. He is clean-shaven and usually wears a blue overall.

He enters buildings and offices claiming to be from the maintenance department and says he is there to measure skirting boards or change light fittings.

Two incidences have been reported, one in Kopano and one in the maths building, where the man has stolen two cell phones.

The other suspect is a woman with very short reddish-brown hair. Her front teeth are capped in gold and she has the word 'love' tattooed between the knuckles of her hand.

She has been seen standing in passageways talking on a cell phone. Once unsuspecting employees leave their offices, she enters and steals small items such as cell phones, wallets and handbags. If you see either of these suspects, please contact CPS immediately on 650 2222/3 or alert the Investigations Department on 650 2226/8 or 2122 or 3800.
