UCT student develops greywater system to solve water crisis in Cape Town
A third-year civil engineering student at the University of Cape Town, Nkosinathi Nkomo, was unable to register in 2017 due to lack of funds. To raise funds, he decided to apply some of the knowledge he had acquired practically to come with a solution to the water crisis in Cape Town.

UCT researcher looks at ways of offsetting water scarcity through harvesting storm water
Cape Town uses about 300 million cubic metres of water annually, most of which comes from the 6 major reservoirs. But every year 4 times as much as that falls on the city as rain. Now civil engineer and PhD researcher John Okedi is studying ways in which this water can be used to offset the current water shortage.
