UCT surgeon performs innovative holographic surgery
Professor Stephen Roche and a team from Groote Schuur Hospital recently used a Microsoft HoloLens2 – a holographic helmet – to perform a mixed reality shoulder replacement surgery. The surgery was part of a global 24-hour event in which surgeons from 13 countries collaborated on 13 orthopaedic surgeries using holographic imagery.
