TLC2022 – Programme and registration reminder

20 October 2022

Dear colleagues and students

We are pleased to let you know that the programme for the 2022 University of Cape Town (UCT) Teaching and Learning Conference (TLC2022) is now available! This year’s conference will adopt a hybrid approach. The first day of the conference (Tuesday, 25 October) will be in person and the second day (Thursday, 27 October) will be virtual.

We are excited to announce that keynote speakers will be Associate Professor Kasturi Behari-Leak, Dean of the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHED) at UCT and Professor Mpine Makoe, Commonwealth of Learning Chair in Open Education Resources/Practices and Professor in Open Distance eLearning, University of South Africa.

Focused on “Vision 2030 and a socially just teaching and learning environment at UCT”, the programme offers a rich variety of panels, presentations, workshops and show-and-tell sessions addressing four key conference themes related to decolonisation, critical pedagogies, institutional support and innovative use of technology.

The in-person conference day (25 October) will take place at the Wilfred and Jules Kramer Building, Middle Campus. The second day (27 October) will be broadcast via Zoom.

We encourage all UCT staff and students to attend.

Please register now – for either in-person or virtual attendance, or both – if you have not yet done so. Places are limited for the in-person day.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely

Professor Harsha Kathard
Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching and Learning
