In remembrance: Magdalene Simons

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of our colleague, Mrs Magdalene Simons (46), on Sunday, 13 February 2022.
Mrs Simons joined the university as a cleaner in July 2016.
She will be missed by her colleagues, family and friends, who have described her as an honest, friendly and hardworking woman who gave her all in everything she did. She was especially dedicated to her family.
Mrs Simons is survived by her husband Abduragmaan, daughter Fatiema, son Mustapha and two grandchildren.
Her funeral was held in Mitchells Plain on Sunday, 13 February 2022.
The university has reached out to offer support to the Simons family and during this time of bereavement our sincere condolences go out to them and all who knew and loved her.
