The full-time MBA programme offered by UCT's Graduate School of Business (GSB) has been ranked the best value for money MBA in the world in the latest Financial Times (FT) of London's Global MBA Top 100 Ranking.

The GSB remains the only business school in Africa in the FT MBA Top 100, and this is the fifth consecutive year that the School has featured in the rankings.

The school was also ranked 15th in the career progress category, seventh in the international mobility of MBA graduates category and fourth in the international experience category.

The 2009 ranking places the GSB in the top five business schools based in BRICS emergent markets: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

"The GSB is delighted with this Top 100 ranking for the fifth consecutive year - it testifies to the high quality of our programmes and the exceptional quality of our MBA in particular," said Professor Frank Horwitz, director of the GSB.

Horwitz said that it was pleasing to see the GSB and its reputation continuing to rise and that this is reflected in the fact that the 2009 MBA numbers have met the school's targets, with the business school attracting increased applications for this year.

The school has been particularly excited at the interest shown in its MBA from people from the rest of Africa.
