Recently, a group of 17 staff members received certificates for the completion of an eight-day First-Line Management Programme. The programme aims to provide first-line managers with the tools and skills to manage people. The three core modules covered topics such as understanding oneself and others; understanding management and leadership; and building commitment with individuals and teams. The course was run on behalf of the UCT Learning Centre, part of the university's Recruitment and Development Department, by Jenni Williams of Breaking Ground Learning and Development. The 17 staff members celebrated the end of the programme with a recent celebratory lunch, where they received their certificates of completion.
