Crime alert

Campus Protection Services wants to alert all students to be cautious when walking on Main Road between Observatory and Rondebosch at night.

This is because in the past two weeks there have been a number of robberies at night. The suspects are two young men who threaten their victims with a knife or firearm. They have been seen driving a white Toyota Cressida.

All cases have been reported to the South African Police who have undertaken to step up patrols. In the meantime, however, all students and staff who use Main Road are advised to be alert, walking in groups where possible, and avoid doing so at night.
