Dear Vice-Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng,
It is with great sorrow we have seen the news about the devasting fire affecting the Rondebosch campus of the University of Cape Town. We are really sorry to read that this fire swept through several of your iconic buildings, leaving devastation for staff and students in its wake and ravaging the UCT Libraries’ Special Collections. I cannot begin to think of the impact this must have on all of you.
Be assured that you and all the people of your university are in our minds. We wish you strength and courage overcoming this crisis and we hope to continue our relationship under a clearer sky.
My colleagues and I will also reach out to the Graduate School of Business at UCT. Our respective institutions are close partners and we are working together closely, for example in the context of the CEMS network.
Wishing you all the very best,
