CHE update on COVID-19 concession for distance mode The Council on Higher Education (CHE) has issued a new communique (April 2026) confirming the implementation of the themed review on modes of learning and teaching provision, and the conclusion of the COVID-19 era concession on delivery modes.   22 Apr 2026
New requirement: Eight-week notice for doctoral thesis submission From May 2026, all doctoral candidates will be required to upload their intention to submit documents to PeopleSoft at least eight weeks before they are permitted to upload their thesis for examination. 22 Apr 2026

Two Oceans Marathon and its impact on UCT The annual Two Oceans Marathon will take place from Friday, 10 April, to Sunday, 12 April 2026, with various road closures planned in the vicinity of the University of Cape Town (UCT).
