Large-scale research provides analysis into SA’s socio-economic problems
The conclusion of the Research Project on Employment, Income Distribution and Inclusive Growth (REDI3X3) – a large-scale, multi-year research undertaking led by the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU) – provides an in-depth analysis of some of South Africa’s most pressing challenges; and how to fix them.

There was plenty of foot traffic along UCT’s avenues, corridors and precincts as new students and their parents, guardians and sponsors made their way around campus to attend information sessions and guided tours, learning about the faculties and many support services available.

New digital tools to enable UCT scientists prepare for malaria outbreaks in southern Africa
The Wellcome foundation has provided approximately R487-million to support global research to address urgent health threats brought about by climate change. This funding provides for 24 research teams in 12 countries around the world to develop innovative digital tools to model the relationship between climate change and infectious disease.
