University of the Future to host staff event

20 September 2023

Dear colleagues

On behalf of the University of the Future (UoF) Steering Committee and the Development and Alumni Department (DAD), we invite you to the UoF staff and alumni hybrid challenge event, to be hosted on Wednesday, 4 October 2023 as part of the UCT Day celebrations.

Launched in May 2023, the University of the Future project aims to support Vision 2030’s call to unleash human potential for a fair and just society, by engaging the university community to share ideas for what might be required to create enabling places, spaces, services and functions to realise this dream for the University of Cape Town (UCT).

This event provides all staff and alumni with a unique opportunity to come together to engage in the process of developing a conceptual framework to co-create a university fit for all.

Join us in-person, or virtually, for this exciting event packed with inspiring speakers, a live music performance by Nomfundo Xaluva-Dyantyis, and an interactive co-creation session.

The event will be addressed by keynote speaker, Mr Trevor Manuel, the former Minister of Finance.

Join this session and be a part of shaping the university of the future, with thought-provoking discussions and entertainment.

Date: Wednesday, 4 October 2023
Time: 15:00–19:00
Venue: Hasso Plattner School of Design Thinking Afrika

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible as we build up to the inaugural UCT Day.
