Dear students and colleagues

We are excited to invite you to a special event organised by the Department of Student Affairs, Student Wellness Service. As part of our commitment to mental health promotion and awareness on campus, we are presenting the “Route of Holistic Justice”, an African Indigenous Traditional and Spiritual Practice Indaba.

Date: Tuesday, 29 August 2023
Time: 12:00–16:30
Venue: All Africa House Conference Room, 43 Stanley Road, Middle Campus

If you cannot make it in person, you can attend the event virtually.

The Route of Holistic Justice event aims to explore the topic of psychospiritual stress and the role of indigenous practices in addressing mental well-being. This unique event will provide a platform to engage in meaningful discussions, gain valuable insights, and learn from esteemed practitioners and experts in the field.

The indaba will include:

  • keynote speeches by renowned practitioners in African indigenous traditional and spiritual practices
  • interactive workshops and demonstrations to experience various aspects of holistic healing
  • panel discussions with experts on psychospiritual stress and its impact on mental health
  • networking opportunities with like-minded individuals interested in holistic wellness.

We believe that understanding and embracing diverse approaches to mental health is essential in creating a supportive and inclusive campus environment. The Route of Holistic Justice offers a unique opportunity to explore African indigenous traditions and their potential contribution to our holistic health and wellness programmes.

We encourage all students and staff members to attend and engage in this enlightening event.

Let’s foster a campus community that values mental health and holistic wellness together.
