World Cancer Day is celebrated globally on 4 February every year. The South African Medical Research Council / University of Cape Town (UCT) Gynaecological Cancer Research Centre will be screening a documentary on eliminating cervical cancer and presenting their vision of how to achieve this important goal by 2030.

There will also be speakers present on the day. Moderated and chaired by Professor Lynette Denny (the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, UCT and Groote Schuur Hospital), the speakers will include Professor Greta Dreyer (University of Pretoria), Drs Nomonde Mbatani and Nazia Fakie (UCT). The discussions will focus on survivorship of women with gynaecological cancers.

Venue: Neuroscience Institute, J Block New Main Building, Groote Schuur Hospital
