Dear colleagues and students

It is with sadness that I write to inform you of the passing of Mrs Jolene Isaacs, who was the Food Service Supervisor at Fuller Hall residence.

Mrs Isaacs passed away last week following an illness. She was on her annual leave when she took ill and was admitted to hospital.

She was part of the University of Cape Town for over two decades, having joined the catering division in Student Housing and Residence Life in 1994.

When the catering staff were outsourced in 1995, she continued working for the outsourced companies. She was recently once again insourced along with all the other catering staff.

Mrs Isaacs is survived by her husband Keith, son Davarone and grandchild Amesha.

She will be fondly remembered by those she has interacted with as a gentle and kind person who was loved by students and staff alike.

Funeral arrangements are still being finalised by the family.

On behalf of the entire UCT community, I convey our deepest condolences to the Isaacs family and all of her loved ones.

Yours sincerely

Dr Max Price
Vice-Chancellor
