Surfer student calls the scores in Kiwi land

Emma Bone, a master's student in the Department of Human Biology, has joined the 16-strong South African junior squad on its trip to New Zealand, where she will act as a judge at the 8th Quiksilver International Surfing Association (ISA) World Junior Surfing Championships, to be held at Piha Beach, Auckland, from 21 to 28 January. Bone has been included on the international judging panel that is made up of technical officials from 14 countries. A former SA junior surfer herself, Bone has been adjudicating at national and international competitions for the past four years.
