Superheroes unmasked

28 May 2002

MARVEL COMICS could only wish for such a band of caped crusaders! Last Tuesday assorted UCT students, disguised as superheroes (real and fictitious), donned their cloaks and boots, pulled their underwear over their tights and wheedled, cajoled, enticed and otherwise inveigled innocent motorists and pedestrians to part with R10. It was all for a good cause, Sax Appeal of course.

Monday Paper persuaded this festive group to unmask (gasp!) briefly. They are (from left back): Megan Deane (alias Superina), Sibu Dladla (alias Superhigh), Greer Levendal (alias Superfly) and (front) Laura Bosenberg (alias Superina). With not a telephone booth in sight, the Rondebosch Fountain provided scant (but historic) cover for the mass metamorphosis from students to superheroes. And with humour like "Hollywood is a place where they shoot too many pictures and not enough actors", who'd be without a copy?
