Are you keen to become a certified para-athletics official? You can, and the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) ParaSports Club will help make this possible. Join volunteers from across the campus community and the greater Cape Town area and receive a crash course on the key need-to-knows of para-athletics training.
The training programme is organised by the UCT ParaSports Club in partnership with Unitie Athletics – a Western Province Sport Association for the Physically Disabled and Visually Impaired (WPSAPD)-affiliated club. The theoretical component will take place on Saturday, 27 August, in the Kramer Law Building (LT3), and the practical leg of the course will take place on UCT’s athletics field on middle campus.
The goal is to train a pool of volunteers to officiate at the WPSAPD athletics trials, which kick off on 10 September. Thereafter, a group of volunteers will also be selected to officiate at the national athletics tournament in March 2023.
There are only a few spots left, so hurry and contact UCT ParaSports Club to secure your place.
