Join students from Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (Sweden) for a week-long bootcamp at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business (UCT GSB) Solution Space at Philippi Village between 15 and 22 July to learn about challenge-driven innovation and entrepreneurship in resource-constrained environments with Professor Mikael Samuelsson.
The bootcamp looks at locally defined societal challenges and social entrepreneurship to address them through high-impact entrepreneurial activities and innovation, while at the same time creating much-needed economic activity in challenging environments.
Based on a challenge-driven pedagogy, attendees will learn how to approach open-ended societal challenges in a resource-constrained environment, and how to use and implement systematic methodologies for identifying problems underlying societal challenges and find viable and desirable solutions. In addition, they will learn to understand how systems complexity and dynamics across different scales of a system impact how societal challenges are perceived and addressed in the context of South Africa – what works (and what doesn’t) in innovative start-ups and inspiring leading-edge organisations that are remaking their marketplace. Finally, attendees will learn how to address and understand how to deliver new products and services in challenging settings.
Dates: Friday, 15 July, to Friday, 22 July 2022 (in-person attendance is required daily between 8:00 and 17:00 on weekdays. The programme for the weekend will be confirmed)
