Which wall will your research break?

University of Cape Town (UCT) creators, innovators, trailblazers and visionaries, this one’s for you: Falling Walls Lab, a worldclass pitch competition and networking forum, is coming to Cape Town.

Students, entrepreneurs, early-career researchers, and academics of all disciplines are invited to apply to pitch their innovative ideas in just three minutes, showcasing a breakthrough that creates a positive impact on science and society.

The virtual Falling Walls Lab Cape Town is hosted by Falling Walls Lab, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (South Africa) and UCT, and takes place on 30 September 2021.

Prizes

  • The first-prize winner will win R18 000 and the opportunity to present their idea to a prestigious international audience.
  • The second-prize winner will win R12 000.
  • The third-prize winner will win R9 000.
