What does an institution of care look like for the future of work, study and play? The Klaus-Jürgen Bathe Leadership Programme will be holding a virtual youth-led intersectional discussion to answer this question and to gain deeper insights into the lived experience at the University of Cape Town (UCT).

Klaus-Jürgen Bathe has been a patron and donor of UCT for the past 30 years. The leadership programme was launched in 2014 to identify and nurture young students who will go on to occupy leadership positions in civil society, politics and business.

On Wednesday, 30 September, the programme will launch the Klaus-Jürgen Bathe Future Leadership series, in partnership with UCT’s Futures Think Tank and the Centre for Extra-Mural Studies (EMS).

The first webinar will feature three Klaus-Jürgen Bathe scholars who will be looking at UCT’s Vision 2030 and focusing on how to create a culture of care at an institutional level from a youth-led perspective.

These insights will be fed directly to the Futures Think Tank and to the vice-chancellor to enhance UCT’s transformation agenda.
