In remembrance: Narian Auracius Naidoo

06 December 2023

Dear colleagues and students

It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you that our colleague, Mr Narian Auracius Naidoo (33), passed away at Worcester Hospital on Saturday, 18 November 2023.

Mr Naidoo joined the University of Cape Town (UCT) on 1 February 2013 and was a surveillance operator in the Campus Protection Services at Burnage. Colleagues described him as a quiet, soft-spoken person and a great team player who went an extra mile. He displayed his experience in everything he did and was always committed to assisting students and staff.

He leaves behind his son Blake, mother Rachel, father Nadhir, sisters Roshni and Ranjeni, and fiancé Zola De Wee.

His funeral took place on Saturday, 25 November 2023.

We convey our heartfelt condolences to Mr Naidoo’s family, to whom we have reached out to offer our support in this period of grief. We also convey our condolences to his colleagues, friends and all who knew or worked with him at UCT.

Sincerely

The UCT Executive
