Student assembly on the draft UCT Vaccine Mandate Policy

07 March 2022

Dear students

The university’s Vaccine Mandate Panel (VMP) will hold a student assembly on the draft UCT Vaccine Mandate Policy this week. The session is part of the consultative process. It will be facilitated by the Chair of the VMP and Deputy Dean: Health Sciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Associate Professor Tracey Naledi and Deputy Chair, Professor Pierre de Vos, who is the Claude Leon Foundation Chair in Constitutional Governance.

All students are encouraged to participate in the session to make their voices heard and to learn more about the work of the panel. This also includes reading the draft policy ahead of the session to ensure meaningful engagement.

The online student assembly will be held from 12:30 to 14:00 on Wednesday, 9 March via the Microsoft Teams platform.

Comments can be sent to vmp@uct.ac.za. Once all comments are received, the VMP will consider these further and a final decision on the policy will be made by the UCT Council.
