Clarity on completing Vulnerability Assessment

Dear students and colleagues

Following the communication of 22 September 2021 regarding the UCT Health App, the support team has received a number of requests for clarification on who needs to complete the Vulnerability Assessment form.

• The 1 October 2021 deadline for submitting the Vulnerability Assessment is aimed at staff members and students who are currently working or attending learning activities on campus. These people require access to the Daily Screening system.
• If you have never received an invitation to complete either a Vulnerability Assessment in the UCT Health App or a Health Risk Assessment on the Redcap system, then you are not on the list of UCT members who need to be on campus. You will not be sent an invitation to return to work/campus; nor will you receive a link to complete a Vulnerability Assessment. Instead, you are expected to continue working or studying online.
• The Redcap System was replaced by the UCT Health App to help manage the process of returning to campus for work or study purposes. This process was planned carefully to follow social distancing and environmental guidelines for people who need to be on campus.
• If you completed a Health Risk Assessment on the Redcap system, you will not be required to complete a Vulnerability Assessment on the UCT Health App. You will continue to have access to the Daily Health Screening page on the UCT Health App.
• The Exposure Likelihood process is managed by your head of department or faculty representative. They are required to complete this assessment before inviting any student or staff member to return to campus for work or study purposes. The Exposure Likelihood process focuses on the work area environment rather than on the students or staff members who will be invited into that space.
