Reminder: Launch of SWS ICAS On-The-Go Crisis App

Dear colleagues and students

Student Wellness Service (SWS) has launched the SWS ICAS On-The-Go Crisis App on Monday, 20 September 2021.

Students can download the SWS ICAS App to obtain confidential and practical counselling support and advise in 11 languages, 24/7/365. Please note that the code for students is UCT001.

The App enables students to receive immediate counselling or reach out to a professional from wherever they are around the country.

The SWS will also host a SWS Run/Walk4MentalHealth in commemoration of World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2021.

The SWS has 24-hour telephonic counselling services available even during weekends. Students can access these services through:

  • UCT Students Careline in collaboration with SADAG: 0800 24 25 26 (call) or 31393 (SMS)
  • Higher Health Counselling: 0800 36 36 36
  • ER24 UCT Collaboration: 010 205 3010.

Other exciting activities offered by SWS to support students’ wellbeing include Peer Mental Health Support Programme, RunWalk4Mental Health, Mindfulness (Pause & Connect Group) and Post Graduate Support Group. Please email sws@uct.ac.za or visit the SWS website for more details on these.
