In remembrance: Mokgosi Mohube

20 August 2021

Dear colleagues and students

We are deeply saddened to notify you of the passing of our student, Mr Mokgosi Mohube (47), on 27 July 2021.

Mr Mohube was studying towards a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.

He has been described as an extraordinary person who was enormously kind, amazingly funny and an individual who made it his personal mission to encourage others wherever possible. His fellow students spoke of the joy he brought to their classes and the interactions they had with him. He had committed himself to improving the conditions, dignity and opportunities afforded to agriculturalists in his community in Gauteng, where he and his family lived. At the time of his passing he was hard at work on a dissertation that stood to make an important contribution in this area.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Sedise; and two children, Bokang and Mothehi.

His funeral service took place on Friday, 6 August.

The university has been in contact with his family and reached out to offer support during this time of bereavement. Our heartfelt condolences go out to all those who knew Mr Mohube.

Sincerely

The UCT Executive
