Time is running out for the University of Cape Town (UCT) community to nominate colleagues or apply for one of three Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Awards.

Introduced last year, the awards recognise those who make outstanding contributions to the university’s mission and objective. All professional, administrative support and services (PASS) staff may apply for or nominate colleagues for the Global Citizenship Award and the Service Excellence Award. Staff involved in transformation may apply for or nominate colleagues for the UCT Transformation Award.

The awards criteria are:

  • Service Excellence: For outstanding service, including activities, practices and/or projects that have contributed to exceptional or significantly improved services to staff and students.
  • Global Citizenship: For individuals or teams that have demonstrated excellence in reflecting UCT’s mission through service, the pursuit of knowledge, human dignity and contributions to the common good.
  • Transformation: For work that aligns with UCT’s strategic plan and vision for excellence, transformation and sustainability. This award recognises and encourages staff to take an active role in institutional culture change.

The deadline for submission is 15 October 2020.
