In remembrance: Adolf Nyiko Khosa

10 June 2020

Dear colleagues and students

It is with deep sadness that we write to inform you of the death of Mr Adolf Nyiko Khosa (25), a Bachelor of Social Sciences honours student. Mr Khosa died at his private residence on Wednesday, 3 June 2020, after a long illness.

Mr Khosa, also known as Dolf or John, completed his undergraduate degree last year and was pursuing his honours at the time of his passing. He will be remembered as a very humble person who never made a fuss about his challenges or personal difficulties. He had a loving and gentle nature and made a significant impression on others because of his quiet and dignified, but very palpable presence. He lived for his studies and was immensely proud to have achieved his degree.

The youngest among his siblings, Mr Khosa is survived by his sisters Queenie, Ruth, Ana and Brenda. Funeral arrangements have not yet been confirmed.

The university has reached out to offer support to the Khosa family. We convey our heartfelt condolences to Mr Khosa’s family, friends and all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time of grief.

Sincerely

The UCT Executive
