In remembrance: Sheeham Adams

14 August 2019 | The UCT Executive

Dear colleagues and students

It is with great sadness that we notify you of the passing of Ms Sheeham Adams (47), who died peacefully in the early hours of Monday morning, 12 August 2019.

Ms Adams was a food service controller at Kopano residence. She was insourced to work for the University of Cape Town in November 2016 but had worked at the university for 20 years.

She will be remembered for her generous, caring nature, broad smile and sense of humour. Her colleagues have described her as a fair and reasonable manager, who believed that two wrongs cannot make a right. They speak highly of her as a dear and good-hearted friend who they will sorely miss. Kopano staff members fondly recall her willingness to always listen and assist where needed.

Ms Adams is survived by her husband, two children, a grandchild and her mother.

Her funeral took place in Heideveld on 12 August.

The university has reached out to offer support to her family, and our sincere condolences go out to them and all who knew Ms Adams.

Sincerely

The UCT Executive
