Deferred Examinations: Guideline for Students

27 September 2018 | Dr Karen van Heerden Deputy Registrar: Academic Administration

Dear students

Please read this guideline carefully and follow these instructions if you intend to apply for a deferred exam (DE). This guideline must be read in conjunction with the Senate rules on deferred exams (Handbook 3, G27 and 28).

Please note that there is a new procedure for submitting your applications using PeopleSoft self service. Details in the link below.

If you need advice about the DE rules or process, please write to deferred.exams@uct.ac.za or inquire at the Student Records Office in Masingene, Level 4, or phone 021 650 3595. Please do not seek, or act on, advice about the Deferred Exam procedure or rules provided by others.

Please seek curriculum advice if you are battling with your academic workload, or support from the Student Wellness Service if you are battling with health issues.

I wish you every success as you prepare in the weeks ahead.

Dr Karen van Heerden
Deputy Registrar: Academic Administration
