In remembrance: Susan Williams

05 September 2018 | The UCT Executive

Dear colleagues and students

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ms Susan Williams (49) on Friday, 31 August 2018, at Karl Bremer Hospital after a short illness.

After serving the university for eight years with the contracted company Supercare, she officially joined Campus Cleaning Services in July 2016. She had served in the Department of Biological Sciences for the past decade.

Ms Williams was a jovial and helpful person, with a wonderful sense of humour, who enjoyed telling stories. She was very hard working and always ready to assist.

The funeral service will take place on Friday, 7 September 2018, at 09:00 at the Dutch Reformed Church, Kraaifontein. An informal memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, 6 September at 10:30 in the John Day tea room.

Ms Williams leaves behind her parents; her four sisters; her daughter, Natalie; and four grandchildren. The university has reached out to the family to offer support in this time of bereavement.

On behalf of UCT, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Ms Williams’ family, friends and colleagues.

Sincerely

The UCT Executive
