Argent's winning budget speech

Jonathan Argent, an honours student in economics in 2008, has won the 36th Old Mutual and Nedbank Budget Speech Competition. Argent took the top spot in the postgraduate category for his speech, titled Tax Incentives for Investment in South Africa, taking the R150 000 cash prize. Winners were announced by Minister of Finance Trevor Manuel, at a gala function on 11 February. UCT' Trevor Chuma also won the competition in 2006.
