Ayogu honours best students

The Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Professor Melvin Ayogu, paid credit to some of the faculty's best undergraduate brains at an elegant Awards for Excellence celebration recently.

In addition to class medals for all undergraduate courses in the faculty, prizes were handed over by representatives from sponsors Accenture, Deloitte, Foschini, KPMG and PriceWaterhouseCooper, among others.

Kyle Martin won the best student prize in Information Systems II and Lori Berelowitz took the award for best student in Financial Accounting II, while Maurice Hasson was awarded the prize for best student in second-year BCom. The top students in the first and second years in economics were Johannes du Plessis, Caitlin Miles, Evan Bradley and Julian Grieve. Kate Oakley was the top retail student.

Simiso Ngidi collected the Herman Rhoda Prize as the top Financial Accounting II student on the BCom Commerce Academic Development Programme (CADP).

PricewaterhouseCooper awards for the best academic results and most versatile students on the CADP were won by Mbalenhle Ngcobo, Naledi Makiwane, Nomthetho Tshongweni and Precious Dlamini.
