Vice-Chancellor lauds high flyers

15 November 2007 | Story by Helen Théron

The Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Njabulo S Ndebele, met with a group of the university's 'shining stars' at last night's VC Cocktails, occasions designed for him to meet and congratulate members of the UCT community who have excelled in recent months.

"I'm always impressed by the fact that I'm able to host these events as often as I do. This is not a comment on the UCT budget, but rather a tribute to UCT scholars, staff and students.

Among the 62 invitees were Professor Dele Amosun, who was recently honoured by the World Confederation for Physical Therapy for his contribution to physiotherapy education in Africa, and Professor Ingrid Fiske who has been invited to serve on the advisory panel on literature for the National Arts Council.
