Baqwa memorial lecture this week

30 July 2007

Forest Hill Residence will present the 3rd JD Baqwa Memorial Lecture on Friday, 3 August, at 18h30 in the Forest Hill Courtyard, Main Road, Mowbray.

The speaker on the occasion will be Professor Malegapuru W Makgoba, vice-chancellor of the University of KwaZulu-Natal. A graduate of the then University of Natal Medical School, Makgoba obtained a DPhil in human immunogenetics at Oxford.

The JD Baqwa lecture series is a project wholly conceived and managed by the management of Forest Hill Residence where Baqwa served as warden until his untimely death in August 2001. These lectures aim to foster critical debate and dialogue on an array of pertinent issues facing South African society today.

All staff and students are welcome. For queries, please contact AC Serote (082 055 3930).
