Leadership awards

UCT aims to honour its student leaders with a range of nine Student Leadership Awards, the first of their kind at the university.
A call has gone out for nominations, which close on October 1.
The awards are the result of a partnership between the offices of the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, the Dean of Students, and the Student Development Services Department. The aim is to acknowledge the outstanding and selfless contribution made by student leaders at UCT.
All student leaders in recognized UCT structures may nominate themselves or be nominated, if they meet generic and specific criteria. Each of the nine categories carries a cash prize.
Nominations should be sent to the Student Development Office.
The winners will be decided by a panel comprised of staff and will be announced at a ceremony in Jameson Hall on October 22, from 17h00 until 21h00.
All student organizations are invited to send three members of their executive committee (RSVPs should be in by October 8). Tickets to other members and the general student body will be available from October 10 at the Student Development Office.
