Run to the gun at Sports Science Institute

21 July 2003
A panel of eight experts, including the likes of Professor Tim Noakes, Runner's World editor, Mike Finch, Cape Talk presenter Charmaine Noy and the World of Endurance virtual coach, Dave Spence, will help runners and walkers prepare for the 2003 Cape Argus Woolworths Gun Run on September 21.

RunScience of the Sports Science Institute of South Africa, in conjunction with Woolworths, will be hosting a series of three workshops that will cover training guidelines, motivational tips as well as dietary advice. The workshops will be held on Mondays July 28, August 18 and September 15 at the Sports Science Institute Auditorium in Boundary Road, Newlands.

The entrance fee for each workshop is R15, with all proceeds going to selected charities. The sessions start at 18h45 and refreshments will be served at interval.

All participants will receive a goody bag, compliments of Woolworths, and will have the opportunity of winning excellent lucky draw prizes, including a pair of Adidas running shoes. Traditionally, these workshops have been extremely popular, and runners are therefore encouraged to book their places early by calling Megan Lloyd on (021) 659-5665 or main reception on (021) 659-5600.
