UCT study uncovers the power of mobile phones for refugees

Trending and topical: Summer School 2018 is here
Summer School 2018 has its finger placed firmly on the pulse. The annual public education programme (which offers short courses for non-degree purposes) includes a session each with investigative journalist Jacques Pauw, founding member of Umkhonto we Sizwe Ronnie Kasrils and former top-ranking government official in Nelson Mandela Bay, Crispian Olver. Each will speak to their recently released books, which present damning indictments of the political status quo.

High number of doctoral and Master's graduates at UCT graduation ceremonies

UCT's new study provides insight into nitrogen pollution in False Bay
Despite a wealth of research on False Bay, little is known about the chemical make-up of its water, how this varies seasonally and how its vigorous circulation prevents stagnation. But a new study by UCT oceanographer Assistant Professor Sarah Fawcett on nitrogen pollution in the country's biggest natural bay hopes to change that.

UCT law student selected for the prestigious Schwarzman scholarship
UCT postgraduate law student, Lindokuhle Ntuli, has been chosen among the 142 Schwartzman Scholars from all over the world. Ntuli, a lawyer with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) succeeded in the rigorous selection process to be part of the third cohort of this scholarship that attracted over 4 000 applicants.
