In remembrance: Mr Theophilus Ramatjie Ditlou

28 July 2025

Dear colleagues and students

It is with profound grief that we inform you of the passing of our final-year student, Mr Theophilus Ramatjie Ditlou (30), on Tuesday, 22 July 2025.

Mr Ditlou was studying towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Technology Management. He will be remembered as a selfless, committed, hardworking, energetic and vibrant soul who touched the lives of many.

His peers will remember him for his sense of humour and his readiness to offer solutions whenever they faced challenges. His ability to speak all South African languages made him especially approachable, fostering connection among the culturally diverse group of students in the programme. He always took the time to get to know others, and his peers were fond of him.

He is survived by his mother, Margret; father, Wilson; and his siblings, Maropeng, Mosibudi and Tumelo.

He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 2 August 2025 in Muwaweni, Limpopo.

The university has reached out to offer support to the Ditlou family, and our sincere condolences go out to them and all who knew and loved him during this time of bereavement.

Sincerely

The UCT Executive
