POPIA staff information session

02 June 2021 | Campus Announcement

Dear colleagues

As you are aware, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) comes into effect on 1 July 2021. The personal information of the University of Cape Town’s students, staff, research participants and other individuals and organisations is important to the functioning of the institution. The university has established a POPIA programme aimed at promoting compliance with the legislation.

Please join us on 7 June 2021 from 12:00 until 13:30 for a staff information session and an opportunity to ask questions about how POPIA impacts your work environment.

Questions prior to the event can be sent to popia@uct.ac.za.

In the interim please see the USAF POPIA Code of Conduct for public universities, infographic for researchers and introduction to POPIA infographic which are all relevant to the impact of POPIA on the higher education sector.
