Resignation of Mr Ashley Francis, Executive Director of Finance

Dear colleagues

I write to inform you of the resignation of Mr Ashley Francis, Executive Director (ED) responsible for Finance.

Mr Francis joined UCT on 1 September 2013 and was appointed as ED: Finance on 1 January 2016. Mr Francis’ last day of service was 25 August 2020. We thank him for the invaluable contributions made to the university.

Mr Hardy Maritz has been appointed as acting Executive Director: Finance.

I am confident that all finance matters at UCT will continue to proceed appropriately under the acting Executive Director. He will report to the Chief Operating Officer, Dr Reno Morar.
