Dr Gwamaka Kifukwe, Independent consultant in leadership and sustainable development in Africa

Gwamaka is an independent consultant based in Paris specialising in leadership and sustainable development in Africa. He served for over 5 years with the Government of Tanzania at the Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development (UONGOZI Institute), leaving as the Research and Policy Specialist (Head of Department).

He moved to France to improve his french, enhance his understanding of the francophonie and of francophone Africa by enrolling in a master’s programme at Sciences Po. Since 2013 he has been the lead researcher and host of the ‘In Focus’ and ‘Meet the Leader’ TV interview programmes (publicly aired in East Africa). He is currently supporting the OECD’s Development Co-operation Directorate’s work on Triangular Co-operation. He holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Nottingham, and has been honoured by numerous young and emerging leaders initiatives in Africa including UCT’s Building Bridges Programme (2015).
