In remembrance: Minnie Maria Leminie

14 June 2019 | The UCT Executive

Dear colleagues and students

We write with sadness to inform you of the death of Ms Minnie Maria Leminie (51), a cleaner in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Ms Leminie passed away early on Tuesday, 11 June 2019 from an asthma attack.

She has been working at UCT since 2006. Her colleagues have described her as a hardworking person who went the extra mile for the department. She will be remembered as a soft-natured colleague who always did her best and encouraged others to do the same. Staff in the department will miss her beautiful and loving face.

Ms Leminie leaves her 30-year-old daughter Claradene, two sisters and a brother. Her funeral will be held on 22 June in Rocklands, Mitchell’s Plain.

We convey our heartfelt condolences to Ms Leminie’s family, to whom we have reached out to offer our support in this difficult period. We also convey our condolences to her colleagues, friends and all who knew or worked with her at UCT.

Sincerely

The UCT Executive
