Students and staff are invited to enter a team for Saturday’s Wheelchair Rugby Tournament, which is open to everyone.

Bring the gees and join the University of Cape Town (UCT) Students Sports Union and the Office for Inclusivity and Change (OIC) at the Interclub Wheelchair Rugby Tournament on campus this weekend.

The sporting spectacular, hosted in support of sports for people with disabilities, takes place on Saturday, 11 May at the UCT Sports Centre. Participants need not be disabled or experienced players; the tournament is open to the entire UCT community.

A “fierce” OIC team of six, captained by director Sianne Alves, has already signed up to participate, and they’re encouraging other students and staff to follow their lead.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Transformation, Professor Loretta Feris, will be there to lead the cheerleading squad, who will come dressed in tutus in the OIC’s colours in support of the event.
