Neil Armitage Inaugural Lecture

Professor Neil Armitage, deputy director and co-founder of the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Future Water research institute, will address the question of how to turn Cape Town into a water-sensitive city when he delivers the Vice-Chancellor’s Inaugural Lecture on 17 October.

Armitage, who teaches water engineering in UCT’s Department of Civil Engineering, was responsible for the development of the South African Guidelines on Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD).

He has authored or co-authored some 100 publications, and received the Water Research Commission of South Africa’s Award for Human Capital Development in the Water and Science Sectors in 2013.
