The LSE–UCT July School offers an innovative two-week “summer school” style programme that provides an opportunity to study social science issues across diverse subject areas.

In conjunction with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Centre for Extra-Mural Studies will be hosting the sixth LSE–UCT July School from 25 June to 6 July.

The LSE–UCT July School programme combines the academic strengths of the LSE and UCT – two of the world’s leading teaching and research institutions – offering courses from across the social sciences, all with reference and relevance to Africa today.

The innovative two-week “summer school” style programme provides students, graduates and professionals from across the globe with an opportunity to study important social science issues across diverse subject areas.

Participants select one intensive course to study for the two-week programme. Each course is taught by a specialist in their field who holds a position at one of the two institutions.

With an average participation of around 110 people from almost 30 countries across Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas, the LSE–UCT July School provides an opportunity to learn about Africa from within Africa, but with a truly global perspective.
