In remembrance: Asiphe Feliti

13 April 2018 | From the VC's Desk

Dear colleagues and students

It is with heartfelt sadness that I inform you of the untimely passing of Mr Asiphe Feliti (22), who was one of our residence staff members. He passed away on Monday morning, 9 April 2018, after being hospitalised following an incident at home over the weekend.

Mr Feliti joined Student Housing and Residence Life in September 2016 and was working at Liesbeeck Gardens residence at the time of his passing.

He has been described by colleagues as having a quiet and reserved nature. He is survived by his mother, siblings, girlfriend and three-year-old daughter.

The university is in contact with the family, offering support and assistance during this time. The memorial service and funeral details are yet to be finalised.

On behalf of the UCT community, I convey our deepest condolences to Mr Feliti’s family, friends and everyone who knew him.

Sincerely

Dr Max Price
Vice-Chancellor
